As part of a two-week trip to Australia, Benjamin and Tiffany spent a day in Australia’s Capital City of Canberra. Upon arriving in the Capital Territory, we first drove to the lookout at the top of the Mount Ainslie Nature Reserve for a nice view of the entire city. Canberra is a completely planned city that has grown to become the largest inland city in Australia. From the Mount Ainslie Lookout, we could see the Australian War Memorial, Lake Burley Griffin, the Australian American Memorial, Parliament House, and much more.
Next, we explored the area known as the National Triangle, where we visited the uniquely designed Parliament House, the High Court of Australia, the rose gardens surrounding the Old Parliament House, and the National Sculpture Garden at the National Gallery of Australia. We even saw a few Red-Rumped Parrots.
After spending some time walking along Lake Burley Griffin and watching several parrots and galah cockatoos, we called it a night and had a great dinner at Agostinis Italian Restaurant.
